Welcome Back!

Welcome back! I have enjoyed seeing all of my students during the first few weeks of school. Every ELA class visited the media center during the first 2 or 3 weeks of school. 6th graders helped me complete a map of the media center by mapping all of the book locations. 7th graders played Bingo with Books and practiced using gofollett to find their books. 8th graders talked about credible web site sources and used the CARS method to determine if websites were fake or credible.

We are preparing for the Fall Book Fair which begins October 6. Classes are watching the Scholastic Book Fair highlights, and we are also exploring various features of gofollett.com.

SURVEY

GoodBye 2016

We had a great time decorating the media center for the Christmas Holidays.  We are now back at school, and we are thinking about our goals for the remainder of this semester.

The media assistants are modifying their holiday displays to reflect a winter theme.  We are also diligently "reading" our book shelves for out of place books.

The ELA classes are engaging in a variety of activities.  7th grade classes will be reviewing narrative and informational text features. 6th grade classes will be focusing on research, with an emphasis on citing their sources.
